First, I used my normal foundation (Revlon Photoready) and applied generously. Then I powdered using CoverGirl Clean Powder in Buff Beige. I applied a gold shadow on the inner corners of my eyes and my browbone, and then blended out a turquoise shadow into the crease and outer corner, as well as connecting the eyebrow to the bridge of the nose. I liked the entire eye in Maybelline Liquid liner, and extended the lower line toward the bridge of my nose. I applied glitter lashes (leftover from Halloween) and began more shading. I blended a dark turquoise in underneath my eyes, and applied a softer baby blue into the bottom, extending down toward the cheekbone. The nose was shaded on either side of the bridge with turquoise, the nostrils were shaded in a half-moon shape in deep purple, and white was used to highlight the length of the nose. Purple scale-like shapes were drawn above the eyes and onto the temples, though those could've been much neater. The lips were done by applying NARS lipstick in Madere, a very matte nude color. Then the turquoise was again blended into the center of the lips, creating a doll-like effect. The gold shadow was blended into the corners of the mouth and met the turquoise in the middle. A highlight was pressed into the cupid's bow. The cheeks were contoured using a deep grey-black, I originally used a purple but it needed to be deeper in pigment in order to show up in the photograph. Finally, I applied jewels in random patterns in order to create a more interesting look. Let me know what you think!

Mermaid Makeup!
So, on the dreary Sunday that the midwest had yesterday, I found myself itching to do something crazy with all of the colors I had laying around. As you may know, I'm OBSESSED with mermaids, so I tried my best to create a mermaid look. This is the result:

Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine
wowww, so it's been forever since i posted. school and work have been INSANE, and i have a ton of products i need to review. just need more time! >.< today i'm going to be showing you all one of my favorite lip products. i picked it up on a whim from Sephora, and i honestly wasn't expecting it to be any better than the 6374859926647 chapsticks, lip balms, and butters that i have laying around. however, it is amazing.
the container is small, only 6g/0.21oz. however, a little goes a long way. i use mine almost every day, and it seems like i haven't even made a dent in the butter!
as you can see, my container is a little messy. i apply with a finger, generally. the scent is soft and sweet, but not overpowering. it almost smells like cotton candy! it looks decently pigmented in the container, but goes on extremely sheer:
i tried to swatch it here, but it's not even really visible. i didn't expect it to be very pigmented on the skin though, as it's just a balm. once applied, it melts onto the lips and creates a very smooth, buttery (ha!) texture. it doesn't sink in, necessarily, but it's not sticky either. it's literally the perfect texture.
excuse the horrible lighting, i'm at school. as you can see, the butter creates a very subtle pink-beige shine on the lips. it's perfect for everyday wear, and really does its job moisturizing. this has been my go-to lip product for a long time, and i plan on keeping it that way!
Korres lip butter also comes in Guava (clear), Mango (a sheer peach), Quince (a sheer rose), Plum (a sheer berry color), Pomegranate (a sheer coral), and Wild Rose (a sheer deep red). they are available for $12.00 USD for 0.21oz.
xoxo,
gabrielle
